Crighton Horton is a name familiar to many in Circular Head, first coming to the public eye when he organised the 2006 Australia Day celebrations at the Forest Recreation Ground, raising $28,000 for Ronald McDonald House.

A love of agriculture sees Crighton involved in many cattle sales lending his hand (and voice) as auctioneer, as well as helping farmers out with milking and other jobs when needed.

Crighton can be found at auctions at Stanley Golf Club, and pubs and clubs in the Circular Head area, even flying to King Island to help charities from time to time.

“It makes you wonder where he has time to fit this all in, but in closing, I don’t think Circular Head could ask for a more caring person to be involved in our community.” Citizen of the year committee Lion Sheryl Robson and Lion John Bergman said.
