After noticing a gap in the market, Circular Head locals, Bon and Miranda Radford, have decided to take a leap of faith by opening their new family business, Radquip Pty Ltd – Circular Head Plant and Equipment Hire, right here in far north west corner of the state.

Having lived in the area all their lives, the young couple have raised their four children in their family home here in Smithton, with Bon spending the previous 12 years in the mines working as a Diesel Mechanic, whilst Miranda has been in her current employment for past 15 years.

After noticing that Circular Head businesses and tradespeople were hiring plant and equipment from outside the region, Bon and Miranda hope that Radquip will assist locals when requiring extra machinery.

“We decided to start off with two 30kva trailer mounted generators,” the pair said.

“These have been hired out for work sites, as well as private and community events, including a recent a music festival where our temp fencing was also set up.

“We also have a tracked scissor lift which has been hired out for a range of different jobs between Smithton through to Burnie.”

After a number of enquiries, Radquip have extended their range of plant hire and equipment with machinery that can also be used around the home, including a Honda versatool pole saw and a Makita demolition hammer. The new local business has also recently added a Husqvarna Compactor Wacker Packer, with the entire fleet found on their Facebook page, Radquip Pty Ltd.

“We update our Facebook page regularly, and we look forward to growing our fleet over time,” the Radford’s continued.

“We hope to provide this service to locals from friendly and familiar faces.”
