The Stanley and Tarkine Forage Festival was opened last Friday at the Stanley Wine Bar, wine glass and a warm welcome kicking off the festival which runs Sunday November 20. Clint Walker, President of Circular Head Tourism Association (CHTA) welcomed politicians from across Tasmania, including Premier Jeremy Rockliff, Senator Anne Urquhart, Roger Jaensch MP, Anita Dow MP and Ruth Forrest MLC.

The Premier was then welcomed to speak on the events significance to not only the Circular Head community but also Tasmania.

“What a beautiful place this venue is, but also Stanley and encompassing around it the Circular Head community,” Premier Rockliff said.

“We do have some wonderful produce and fruits of the land around us that we can celebrate. The tourism industry is such an important industry for not only Tasmania, but also this region in particular.
