Vegetable shop to go to new Hites

Vegetable shop to go to new Hites

Circular Head residents will now be delighted to hear that their much loved Smithton Country Market is back open, commencing trade on August 3.  Under complete new management with owners Garry and Jane Hite proudly reopening the doors with Rhiannon Powell as the store manager.

This is the first time venturing into business for the Hites and they are excited to try their hand at providing a one stop shop of fresh food.

Manager Rhiannon is passionate about sourcing as much locally grown produce as possible and put the call out early for local suppliers to contact them.  Already boasting a shop of predominantly Tasmanian produce and focusing on what is fresh and in season is the plan going forward.

Powell has already implemented veggie boxes for families and pensioners on the run with a good variety of fresh produce at competitive rates.

In the pipeline are roast veggie trays for time poor people to grab on their way home from work along with stir fry and salad mixes that will soon be available to purchase.

The location of Smithton Country Market is a huge asset for customers who are able to pull up under cover on a wet day and the staff are happy to bring their order out to them should they wish to phone ahead.

Other local produce includes eggs, milk and Perry’s meat.

Opening Monday to Friday 9.30am until 5pm and some Saturday mornings. The team at Smithton Country Market are looking forward to serving the community.
