Wheeling and dealing

The team at Smithton Tyre and Battery know a thing or two about your wheels, and they’re here to help.

Boasting almost 20 years of experience in the tyre industry, owner Andrew Busscher started the business with partner Mel Sowter in November of 2013 out of the back of his ute.

Now more than five years on, Andrew has expanded the business to employ eight locals, each with their own unique set of skills.

The team at Smithton Tyre and Battery know all there is to know about tyres and will do all they can to go the extra mile for their customers.

“We aim to provide what you might call good old fashioned service,” says Andrew.

“We try to do whatever we can to make the experience as comfortable as possible for our customers. We want our clients to feel valued and like they’re more than just numbers.”

Offering everything from domestic car tyre fitting, weight adjustment and replacement to mobile fleet checks and agricultural tyre assessment, the crew will do whatever they can to help you out.

“You could go to a bigger tyre store and pay top dollar for tyres, or you could come to a local who will do whatever he can to maximise your savings,” he says.

“And it’s all in Smithton, which makes things heaps easier.”

With an in-house tyre technician, service fitters, sales and administration, together the crew has almost 60 years of experience.
