Circular Head has just experienced its worst seasonal rainfall for a generation which has been estimated to cause a loss of $35 million in revenue due to a deficit in feed for local livestock.
The seasonal grass growing period from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, has recorded a rainfall deficit of approximately 48 per cent (518 millimetres) over the majority of the Circular Head region, when compared to the previous 10-year average of 995mm. The previous 28 calendar year average is recorded at 926mm.
