Cub and Scout leaders required

The Smithton Cubs and Scouts are in danger of going into recess if they do not receive the necessary assistance required to keep its organisation open. Operating in the Circular Head area since 1914, Cubs and Scouts provide exciting youth development activities which aims to build resilience and confidence in children, adolescents and young adults. With lack of assistance at the top, Group and Scout Leaders, Shaun Kingston and Malcolm Joyce, are concerned about what the future may hold for the local organisation.  

“There’s simply not enough people to help,” Mr Kingston said.

“There is a lack of committee members recently including the President, Secretary and Treasurer. Without a functioning committee, Tasmanian Headquarters won’t allow us to operate.
