Taste of the Tarkine

Taste of the Tarkine

In a showcase of Tasmania’s top quality produce, Tarkine Fresh Oysters will be on television screens soon.

Former MasterChef contestant Ben Milbourne and Olympian Amy Cure were in Circular Head last week, filming for the upcoming television series Award Winning Tasmania

The Channel Nine series, set to air at the end of the year, highlights the exquisite produce that Tasmania has on offer.

Tarkine Fresh Oysters retail manager Cassie Plaza says the program presents a true paddock, or estuary, to plate experience for viewers.

“The crew that were with Ben and Amy were very cruisy but knew what they wanted to capture from the moment they walked in,” she says.

“[The program] will be very good promotion of the area and its finest produce. Ben will showcase not only our area; but all of Tassie, so it’s nice to be included in that class.”

Since his days on MasterChef, Milbourne has  established himself as one of Australia’s premier food and travel television personalities. He has hosted a number of television series including three seasons of Ben’s Menu on Network 10, Tasting Tasmania on Foxtel, Andy and Ben Eat the World on YouTube and Network 10, and Andy and Ben Eat Australia on SBS Food Network.

He has also published two books Mexican Craving and Tasmanian Trail

Award Winning Tasmania explores the island’s tastiest offerings and the stories behind the dishes that have captured the world’s attention. Milbourne will be joined by guests throughout his tour of Tasmania.
