New role for new face

New role for new face

Donna James will be taking on the role of business development manager at the new Circular Head Community Bank.

Starting in May, Donna will spend a month in training before the Community Bank opens its doors in June.

With another staff member to be added to the team in the coming weeks, a refit of the Smith Street branch is the last hurdle the bank has to jump.

All the way from Rockhampton in Queensland, Donna is stoked to finally be in Smithton.

“I’m truly excited, every step of the way has been seamless,” she says.

“This organisation is a unique model of its own [where] it has the opportunity to give back.”

She says that while the move from Queensland to Tassie is a big one, she’s happy to make it because the communities similarities.

“The town is so heavily reliant on agriculture [and] everyone wants to support local business,” she says.

Donna’s role will see her spend a lot of time out and about in the community, building relationships with people and getting to know the friendly faces of Smithton.

Community Bank director Gerard Blizzard is proud to have Donna on board and encouraged community members to invest before the close of the prospectus period.

Reaching $600,000 in community shares so far, directors are keen to see the Community Bank reach maximum capacity of $650,000. The prospectus period closes this Tuesday (April 30). To purchase shares, chat to Tom Glynn on 0411 744 426.
