GNL women. Facing reigning Greater Northern League premiers West Devonport in front of a home crowd on Saturday, the Rocky Cape Tavern Saints experienced a lacklustre game.
The Saints were under pressure from the start with Mel Gray and Leah House working hard in the backline to repel West’s attack.
Entering the second half with a 2-0 disadvantage, the Saints’ defence lapsed to allow West to capitalise four more times, resulting in a 6-0 victory to the reigning premiers.
Gray and House were rewarded for their efforts with votes as was Alex Mainwaring for her stellar performance in the midfield.
The Saints will face Tamar Churinga at home this Saturday from 2pm and hope to alleviate the negatives from Saturday’s match to represent with a much needed win.
