CHFA. Tough battles without the momentum
Round nine of the Circular Head Football Association season saw two well fought battles.
The visiting Redpa side started strong to boot the first major however could not hold onto this momentum allowing Scotchtown to overtake on the scoreboard before the first break.
The two rivals kept scores close until the last quarter when the home side ran away for a 46 point victory, 12.18.90 to 7.2.44.
Early morning rain made the oval heavy for the teams at Irishtown however the home side jumped out for a five goal lead ahead of Forest Stanley at the main break.
The visitors found their feet in the second half but an early lead allowed Irishtown to claim the game, 10.10.70 to 4.4.28.
In the Reserves games, Irishtown defeated Forest Stanley 13.11.89 to 2.2.14 while Redpa notched a win against Scotchtown 7.3.45 to 2.8.20.
Redpa held Scotchtown scoreless throughout the four quarters in the Under 16s, winning 13.18.96 while Irishtown booted 17.9.111 to Forest Stanley’s 5.4.34.
Round 10 will be played between Forest Stanley and Scotchtown, and Redpa and Irishtown this Saturday (July 15).
