Top fundraiser!

The Veteran Car Club of Tasmania was amongst those in attendance at the inaugural Top Gear@Stanley, which raised valuable funds for the Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation.

Show. The recent Top Gear@Stanley produced an outstanding result for the Lions clubs of Rocky Cape and Smithton, with organisers overwhelmed by the response.

Around 180 cars, motorbikes and trucks were exhibited at the Stanley Showgrounds on Sunday April 23.

The most successful vehicle was a revamped Ford owned by Hellyer’s Brian McNab which won three different awards including the People’s Choice.

The range of vehicles on display was staggering ranging from custom vehicles to full rebuilds and all key car makers were represented.

It is estimated that around $12,000 profit from the event will benefit the ground-breaking children’s cancer research initiated through the Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation.

Other clubs to help out were the Circular Head Pony Club and Forest Stanley Football Club with their response being greatly appreciated.

All clubs involved wish to say a big thank you to the patrons and sponsors from the Circular Head community who helped make the inaugural Stanley show an awesome success.
