Tigers’ strong contest

CHHA. The Division Three games unleashed high scoring in round three of the Circular Head Hockey Association.

Meeting on Saturday, Tigers dominated against Irishtown as Sarah Kay claimed six goals alongside two goals from Andy Crole, and one each from Jodi Smith, Melissa Dodd and Stacey Champion-Williams. The side claimed the uncontested victory, 11-0.

On Monday, Robins and Mustangs met for a hard fought match. The scoreboard remained untouched as the second half began before Robins’ Jenny Poke claimed a hat trick and Mustangs’ Cassie Casey responded with one goal.

In the Division Two game, Robins and Tigers leapt out with intensity. Both sides gained attacking opportunities and were held off by strong opposing defence.

With 20 seconds remaining in the second quarter, Robins’ Sari Lehmann gained a goal for the side to enter the third with an advantage.

Tigers earned half a dozen penalty corners throughout the final two quarters however failed to convert allowing Robins to claim the victory, 1-0.

In round four of the Circular Head Hockey Association, the Robins and Tigers Div Three sides will meet this Saturday (April 28) at 9.30am. On Monday (April 30), the Irishtown and Tigers Div Two sides will meet at 6.30pm followed by Irishtown and Mustangs in Div Three at 8pm.
