CHFA. Scotchtown quashed Redpa’s prospects of a Circular Head Football Association Grand Final in the first semi played in Stanley on Saturday.

The Tigers defeated the Redlegs in both the Seniors and Reserves to progress to the Preliminary Final next weekend.

Redpa’s Under 14 and Under 17 sides remain in finals contention as the teams prepare for a Second Semi Final showdown against Irishtown this weekend.

In the Seniors match, Scotchtown started strong in offence to kick seven goals and six points unanswered by Redpa.

The Redlegs responded with three majors in the second term as the Tigers added another three to the tally for a 50 point margin at the main break.

The Pilkington brothers, Andrew and David, alongside Zach Bransden played a thunderous game in the Redpa defence as Scotchtown’s Judd Stewart ran riot in offence to boot four majors.

Five third-term goals from the Tigers sealed the fate of the Redlegs before both sides booted one final goal in the fourth, finishing 16.17.113 to 4.1.25.

In the Reserves, one lonely point supported Redpa for three quarters as Scotchtown clawed forward with 74 points by the third break.

Jarrod Sharman earned Redpa one goal in the fourth term as the defence held their opponents to one major before the final siren, 12.11.83 to 1.2.8.

The Scotchtown Under 17 team advances to the Preliminary Final following a strong offensive performance, led by Brandon Woolley with six majors against Forest Stanley.

The Demons secured two goals, both booted by Jarrod Jackson, in the eight goal defeat, 10.12.72 to 2.5.17.

A low scoring Under 14 match has provided Forest Stanley with the chance to advance following a 2.9.21 to 2.0.12 victory against Scotchtown.

In Circular Head Football Association’s Second Semi Final, Irishtown and Forest Stanley will face off in the Seniors and Reserves this Saturday (August 11) in Smithton. The results of the Second Semi Final will determine who meets Scotchtown in the Seniors, Reserves and Under 17 Preliminary Final next Saturday (August 18) and who will join Forest Stanley in the Under 14 action.
