Teams tied at the top

CHFA. Round seven of the Circular Head Football Association saw two crowd pleasing matches on Saturday.

Out at Redpa, it was an intense first half in which both teams were eager to get the win. Redpa were the first to falter, kicking an inaccurate 14 behinds which possibly cost them their maiden win.

Rodney Franks, Andrew Pilkington and Jotham Krom all stood tall keeping the Redpa spirit alive and battling until the final siren sounded.

Scotchtown’s Brent Burgess showed some good form in the forward kicking three, whilst Josh Smith, Kieren Baldock and Brayden Medwin had the run and carry through the centre. The ball went from inside 50 to inside 50 numerous times before a breakthrough was made and Scotchtown’s trip to Redpa was fruitful with a challenging 19 point win to their name.

Over at Stanley, Irishtown got on the scoreboard early in a fast paced match and continued to lead for the entire match.

Forest Stanley’s backmen Brad Hardy and Kade Bellinger showed their form again this week as they limited the damage Sean Ryan, Michael Sullivan and Leslie Lambert could do on the scoreboard.

Irishtown however failed to stop Brandon Tonks who bagged five big ones and helped lead Forest Stanley to victory by just one point. After this win only percentage separates Forest Stanley and Irishtown on top of the ladder.
