Open. Farmers and dairy service providers are encouraged to self-nominate or nominate a worthy farmer in this year’s Tasmanian Dairy Awards.
The DairyTas Awards are designed to recognise and reward the skill, dedication, ingenuity and environmental responsibility of the farming community in Tasmania.
Dairy farmers can be nominated in the following categories: young farmer encouragement; safety management; and environmental management.
In addition, the business and sharefarmer awards are organised through the TIA benchmarking program and cover the businesses financial performance in the 2014/15 year. These have a separate selection process.
DairyTas executive officer Mark Smith encouraged farmers to nominate.
“It’s a great way to show acknowledgement and support for the ongoing hard work and dedication it takes to be a dairy farmer,” he said.
”Dairy farmers can be quite humble when it comes to their own achievements and the contributions they make to the industry.”
The awards presentation dinner will be held at the Burnie Arts and Function Centre on Wednesday March 16 after the dairy conference.
Nominations close on Tuesday March 1. For more information or nomination forms visit www.dairytas.com.au or phone 6432 2233.
