Sunrise wedding

Sunrise sent a producer and cameraman to Circular Head on Tuesday. Pictured are Tenae (right) and Alysha House along with Circular Head Council staff who welcomed the crew. Picture: Jelena Potpara.

Bride-to-be Tenae House writes about the weeks leading up to her Hamilton Island wedding, which will be televised on Channel Seven’s breakfast show Sunrise on Friday September 6.

Only nine more sleeps to go until the wedding and it seems as though we have got most things under control.

After a fair bit of negotiation, Sunrise have finally agreed to let us take over north-west local Jesse Teinaki to play our favorite song in acoustic as I walk down the aisle.

For our first register song one of my bridesmaids will be doing a duet with Jesse to another one of our favorite songs and to finish the ceremony MKTO will be playing one of their songs which we can all get up and have a bit of a dance to and celebrate.

Yesterday we had one of the Sunrise film crew here to shoot a bit of a segment where people can get to know Brett and I and where we live before the wedding. They fell in love with Circular Head and thought that it was an amazing place.

Katie, one of the production managers, is planning a trip back here with her partner in March next year she loved it so much.

We started the day off at Brett’s mum’s house and had a family breakfast followed by a few interviews with the family. We then went up to council, where they got to meet some of the people that I work with and they were all brilliant on camera.

We went over to where Brett has been working in Stanley at the Seaview apartments hoping to speak to Brett’s boss, but he was too much of a princess on the day and didn’t live up to the challenge, so we had to film the plasterers working with Brett instead (which they weren’t too impressed about).

I also taught Brett how to milk a cow out at Mark House’s farm where dad works, which was a bit of a laugh.

They also spoke to a few of the locals in town up the main street of Smithton. It will be interesting to see what they put together, for a day’s worth of filming it will probably only be a few minutes of footage that they actually play on television.

The footage of Circular Head will be broadcasted on Sunrise on Monday September 2 from 8am.

At the moment they are also thinking about getting Brett and I live on Sunrise the day before the wedding on Thursday September 5.
