Street, court concerns

Petition. Circular Head Council has received a petition requesting a footpath to be installed from John Street to at least Carnac Court, Smithton.

The petition, lodged by Peter Smith, was received by general manager Scott Riley and noted at the March council meeting.

Containing 74 signatures, the petition cites safety concerns for residents and pedestrians due to uneven nature strips, blind corners and the narrow nature of the road when vehicles are parked on the street.

Circular Head councillors noted a similar informal petition not compliant with petition requirements was received from residents in May last year. The new petition will be considered at the next meeting of council on Thursday April 19 from 6pm.
