Small grants scheme

Funding. Circular Head Council has granted three organisations with funding in round one of the Community Small Grants Scheme for the 2018-19 financial year.

Twice yearly the council considers requests for grants from community groups for projects and activities that contribute to the development and promotion of the community including through minor works, culture and events, health and wellbeing, and sport and recreation.

Smithton Girl Guides received $2300 to go towards new lighting in the hall.

Circular Head Little Athletics will purchase new high jump landing mats with the $2480 awarded to the club.

Wyndarra Centre will provide community events and celebrations with funds of $887.10.

A total of 11 applications were received for round one of the scheme requesting funding of $43,649.44 however some applications were deemed ineligible due to change in policy regarding minor works at council-owned facilities.

All future minor works at council-owned facilities will be assessed and prioritised through the Circular Head Council Strategic Asset Management Plan and Long Term Financial Plan.

Applications for round two of funding open in November.
