Shop anywhere, everywhere

Retail therapy is just a swipe away! Economy. Smithton Retail Group, formerly Circular Head Business Group, is partnering with Why Leave Town to bring a shopping promotion to the area.

The Circular Head Gift Card will replace Shopping Dollars and allow customers to spend at more than 50 participating businesses throughout the region.

From hairdressers to mechanics, florists to grocers, restaurants and accommodation or retail businesses, the Circular Head Gift Card will suit even the hardest to buy for.

Simply purchase a gift card in store at {noun} a place for things, Lizzy’s This ’n’ That, Circular Head Office Supplies, Hingston Showcase Jewellers or Stanley Hotel, or online at Why Shop Local, load your card with up to $1000 and relish in supporting local business.

A single swipe of an EFTPOS machine is all it takes to use the Circular Head Gift Card, easily loaded with funds that expire after 12 months and can be managed online at the Why Shop Local website.

Nicole Smith, owner of {noun}, says she hopes the initiative will encourage community members to see what’s on offer close to home.

“We want to encourage locals to spend money locally, not only on retail, but also services,” she says.

“The more money that is spent here, the more job opportunities will arise.”

And the flexibility of the gift card will suit one and all: “Unlike with the Shopping Dollars, you don’t have to spend it all in the one store but spread it through stores and services, $20 here or $30 there.”

In the past decade, Why Leave Town has generated more than $1.4 million in participating communities across New South Wales.

The initiative has expanded into rural and regional areas in New South Wales and now Circular Head in a first for Tasmania.

Locals with remaining Shopping Dollars can redeem their vouchers at Circular Head Office Supplies.

The Circular Head Gift Card will be launched in Emmett Street, Smithton tomorrow (Friday October 20) from 11am. For more information go to www.whyleavetown.com/circularhead or ‘Like’ Smithton Retail Group on Facebook.
