CHCA. Irishtown remain undefeated following the fourth round of the Circular Head Cricket Association season on Saturday.
Playing Forest Stanley in Stanley, the visitors won the toss to send the home side in to bat.
Irishtown bowlers Shaun Hammond and Leslie Lambert took three wickets from eight overs, conceding 18 and 37 runs respectively.
Joel Keep (1/3) and Johnathon Swan (1/19) also contributed to the batting along with two catches from Keep and Hammond in the field.
Following 40 overs, Forest Stanley left the field on 9/152.
In the second innings, Lambert (14) and Zaryn Monson (17) opened the batting followed by Jake Russell (12) and Hammond (48).
Paul Nichols (48 not out) helped the team to the target, reaching 8/156 in 36.5 overs.
In the second match of the round, Marrawah took the bat ahead of Trowutta Combine to notch 5/220 from the 40 overs.
Mitchell Heald topped the scores with 74 not out, supported by Matthew Saward (23), Shane Babcock (33) and Rocky Poke (48).
Trowutta Combine bowlers Craig Moore (2/25), Vishal Kamboj (1/20), Scott Williams (1/41) and Grant Evans (1/34) took the wickets.
In the second innings, Trowutta Combine managed 25 runs from 13.5 overs as Marrawah father-son bowlers Rowan Popowski (5/8) and Rylee Popowski (3/3) took the wickets.
Round five of the Circular Head Cricket Association season will be played next Saturday (December 15) between Trowutta Combine and Irishtown in Smithton and Marrawah and Forest Stanley at Redpa.
