Saints women tame Tigers, men trail

NWBU. The Tall Timbers Smithton Saints women secured a 16 point victory during round 16 of the North West Basketball Union on Tuesday.

The Saints were the first to get a score on the board before the Tigers overtook the lead with a three point shot. The visitors continued to reach ahead, securing a three point lead at one stage before the home side retaliated and held a narrow lead for the remainder of the four quarters, for a 74 to 58 win.

Conceding the first two points, the men trailed from the first whistle. While the Saints remained competitive throughout the first quarter, the Tigers shot ahead for a 50 point win, 45 to 95.

With five rounds remaining, the Smithton Saints will travel to meet the Devonport Warriors on Tuesday (May 30) from 7pm.
