GNL. The Tall Timbers Smithton Saints’ season in the Greater Northern League has ended following the last rostered round.
The men met with Burnie Baptist at McKenna Park on Saturday.
Baptist dominated throughout the match, notching seven goals in the first half before adding another two in the second.
The goal scorers were Leigh Burley, Braden Johnson, Keenan Johnson, Matthew Murphy, Alexander Poke, Khan Riley, Jacob Thrower and two from Jake Wolfe.
Sam Poretus-Smith scored the Saints’ goal in the second half, finishing 9-1.
The women took on South Burnie in an overpowering match. Sonia Poke claimed the Smithton goal while the home side secured six goals for the win, 6-1.
The round 18 losses end the Smithton Saints’ season after both the men and women finished in seventh place on the ladder.
