BCL. The Tall Timbers Forest Stanley Demons have secured their place in the Grand Final of the Burnie Cricket League following a victory in the Semi Final on Saturday.

Despite a washed out final round, the side finished the season highest on the ladder before entering its finals campaign.

Meanwhile, Perry’s Quality Meats Smithton Stars secured only one victory and one washed out draw throughout the season to finish at the other end of the ladder.

Playing on a home ground, Forest Stanley spread throughout the field in the first innings as their Natone opponents opted to bat.

Utilising all but one ball throughout the opening 50 overs, the visitors recorded 184 runs as Kade Bellinger (3/29) and Lachlan Bissett (3/32) took charge of the bowling and Nic Bellinger claimed two catches in the field.

Demon Jimmy Martin started the second innings with a spectacular half century, partnering with Nic Bellinger (34) and Damon Smith (23). Tyler Kadow recorded a lacklustre total of one run at fourth in the line up before Kade Bellinger (37), Marty Hardy (18 not out) and Bissett (6 not out) moved forward for a 5/186 victory from 47.5 overs.

The Forest Stanley Demons will now host the premiership game on Saturday March 17. The Demons will face the victor of this weekend’s Preliminary Final.
