Pool to reopen

Circular Head War Memorial Pool will reopen tomorrow (Friday November 1), Mayor Daryl Quilliam said this afternoon.

The pool was closed following an issue with the heater two weeks ago.

“Fortunately, thanks to a temporary heater, we have been able to get the pool to stay at about 26 degrees, which means we are able to reopen just in time for the long weekend,” Mayor Quilliam said.

Mayor Quilliam said the pool would resume normal opening hours from tomorrow and season ticket holders’ tickets would be extended by two weeks.

Aqua Fit sessions will resume on Wednesday at 7pm.

“Due to the fact the heater is a temporary measure, the heating system and the temperature will have to be regularly reviewed,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“If the temperature does drop again, we will then have to consider whether we close the pool again.”

Mayor Quilliam said a longer term solution was in the process of being delivered.
