Appreciation. After eight years of countless contributions to the community, the Circular Head Bosom Buddies has announced the formal folding of the group.

While the team will continue to participate in the Relay for Life, other commitments will come to a halt. A statement from president Judy King reads:

“Due to facts including lack of numbers, we are all getting older, members stretching themselves while involved in other community activities, we feel it is time to wind up.

“On this note, we would like to pay tribute to our local community, for without your support we would never have achieved what we have.

“Circular Head is an amazing place, and known throughout the state for banding together and looking after their own. This has been proven time again, and we are honoured to be part of such a unique and loving community.”

Full statement:

It is with regret that Circular Head Bosom Buddies announce the folding of our group. Due to facts including lack of numbers, we are all getting older, members stretching themselves while involved in the community activities and other groups in our area targeting similar needs, we feel it is time to wind up.

On the note we would like to pay tribute to our local community, for without your support we would never have achieved what we have. Never in our wildest dreams did we ever envisage Bosom Buddies would have lasted this long as our group was formed in 2006 for the purpose of our walk from Smithton to Hobart. Following this, we then proceeded to write our book “The walk of life” with proceeds going to local cancer patients.

Being involved in families with loved ones experiencing their own cancer journey has allowed us the privilege of supporting these people on a very personal and extremely sensitive level and one we hold dear to our hearts. Through these times, special friendships have been formed and will continue. No doubt some of our team will follow through with their own supporting tole to these special people.

Circular Head is an amazing place, and known throughout the state for banding together and looking after their own. This has been proven time again and we are honoured to be part of such a unique and loving community.

In saying this, once again please accept our humble thanks for all the support given to us over these past eight years as without this, Circular Head Bosom Buddies would never have achieved the amazing results we have.

Our motto: Never underestimate the power of women on a mission.

The Circular Head Bosom Buddies team
