Petition. A request by local residents for a footpath along John Street and Carnac Court will be considered in Circular Head Council’s 2018-19 budget.
A petition, lodged by Peter Smith, cited safety concerns for residents and pedestrians in the request.
Noting uneven nature strips, blind corners and the narrowness of the road when vehicles are parked on the street, the petition gained 74 signatures.
The petition was received by general manager Scott Riley last month and noted at the March council meeting before a decision was made last Thursday.
To meet the service gap, a minimum footpath length of 460 metres extending along John Street and Carnac Court is estimated to cost $84,000.
