Grant. The Circular Head Amateur Swimming Club has received funding in the second round of the state government Sport and Recreation Minor Grants Program.
The $2000 grant will allow the club to purchase new equipment such as kickboards, flippers, stop watches and buoys ahead of its return to the pool, said club president Melinda Dwyer.
“This will be essential in getting us back up and running,” she said, after perishing equipment was discarded at the closure of the Circular Head War Memorial Swimming Pool.
The sport and recreation fund aims to improve and increase participation in sport by assisting organisations to purchase equipment and upgrade facilities.
Circular Head Amateur Swimming Club will host its annual general meeting on Tuesday June 26 at Tall Timbers from 7pm, new and returning committee members are encouraged to attend.
