Competition. Put your thinking caps on, Circular Head – the new pool needs a name.
Circular Head Council and Belgravia Leisure are calling for catchy names to be entered into a competition to name the new complex.
Circular Head Mayor Daryl Quilliam admits the current name “is a bit of a mouthful” and was a working title selected without community input.
Over the next month residents will be able to submit their ideas and vote on shortlisted names to replace Circular Head Community Wellbeing Centre.
The competition is open to all Circular Head locals with great prizes up for grabs.
The top three shortlisted names will win a family aquatic membership, while the winner will bags one month of free swimming lessons.
For schools, there will be a 20 per cent discount on swimming lessons for the first group to book with more than 30 entries submitted from the school.
Encouraging locals to enter, Cr Quilliam says the result will be a “wonderful and befitting name” for the new facility.
“The centre will provide many benefits for the residents of the Circular Head region,” he said.
“Not only will this site provide new options to engage in physical activity, but it will also allow the community to create meaningful relationships through collaboration between community groups, sporting clubs, businesses, community service providers and health service providers.”
To find out more or submit your idea, visit www.circularheadwellbeingcentre.com.au by next Friday (December 7). A shortlist of names will be open for voting from Friday December 14 to Friday December 21 before the winning name is announced in the new year.
