Investigations. Detectives are continuing their investigations into the death of Marrawah resident, 44-year-old Simon John Crisp.

The team of detectives is pursuing several lines of inquiry, but is not in a position to provide details at this time.

“The local community has provided information that has assisted the investigation, and we would like to hear from anyone who has any information regarding the incident,” said Detective Inspector Rob Gunton.

“We would particularly like to hear from patrons of the Marrawah Hotel on Friday evening,” he said.

“Anyone who saw vehicles moving about the area or parked in unusual positions in the vicinity of the hotel, together with any person acting suspiciously in the area, is asked to contact us.”

When questioned whether the shooting was drug-related Mr Gunton refused to make comment. “We are aware of a number of rumours circulating on social media pages. That is not unusual in an investigation of this nature however we don’t make comment on rumours.”

Mr Crisp was fatally shot outside the Marrawah Hotel shortly after midnight on Saturday July 13.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
