Basketball Tasmania and the Smithton Basketball Club will host a two-day junior training clinic next week at the Smithton Sports Centre.
Available to junior players aged seven to 15, Basketball Tasmania’s development manager Mark Radford will work with participants to improve their skills and gain greater knowledge of the game.
Radford is the Australian Under 19 Men’s assistant coach and is looking forward to meeting with local talent.
“Over the years there’s been a number of good players come from the region,” he said.
“In fact we have two boys in our current U/16 State team at National Championships in Victoria right now – Ryan Nibbs and Toby Reeve.”
Held next Thursday July 14 and Friday July 15, a morning session will run from 9am-12pm for U/10 and U/12 players before U/14 and U/16 players take to the court in the afternoon from 1-4pm.
Radford will also host a coaches’ session on Thursday evening.
Camp registrations close on Wednesday July 13. For more information go to Smithton Basketball Club’s Facebook page.
