CHCA. Circular Head Cricket Association played its final rostered round on Saturday where Forest Stanley defeated Trowutta Combine in Stanley.
Trowutta Combine batted first to earn 145 runs from 38 overs before Forest Stanley made a total of 149 from 29 overs in the second innings.
In the second game of the round, Irishtown hosted Marrawah where the visitors batted first to score 145 in their 40 overs with Matthew Saward (84 not out) and Rocky Poke (14) the run scorers.
For Irishtown, the best bowlers were Joel Keep 3/25, Les Lambert 2/19, Johnny Swan 1/24, Matthew Febey 1/26 and Paul Nicholls 1/30.
Marrawah made Irishtown work hard for the win pushing them for 38 overs. Lambert (62), Isaac Perry (24) and Nicholls (19) were the run scorers. John Innes-Smith was the main wicket taker with 4/28 with Scott Fisher 1/27, Steve Fisher 1/20 and Jay Saward 1/23 chipping in.
This win means that Irishtown finished the season unbeaten in roster games and go through to the Grand Final on Saturday March 3.
Irishtown also take on Forest Stanley this evening (Thursday February 22) at 5.30pm for the Grand Final of the Tall Timbers Twenty20 Cup which was postponed due to rain.
The Semi Final in the 40 over competition will see Trowutta Combine challenge second-placed Forest Stanley for a place in the final with the game starting at 10am on Saturday (February 24) at Irishtown.
