Award. Circular Head Motorcycles values top quality service and holds those values true.

The Smithton business was recently named the Tasmanian Honda Dealer of the Year, an accolade the business earned in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016 and now 2017.

Starting at the Nelson Street shop two decades ago, owner Michael Sheehan will mark 10 years of ownership in November this year.

“Not a lot has changed,” he says of the quality service.

“And that’s probably the key to the business . . . why people keep coming back.”

The team takes pride in their work.

“I had a customer not long ago who said thanks for your honesty, I said what else would you expect?

“If I don’t know something about a product or part I’m best to say, sorry I don’t know but I’ll find out, rather than make something up or push one product just for the profit.”

Judged on a combination of customer satisfaction, profits and parts ordered, Michael attributes the award success to the team.

Selling all the latest dirt bikes and accessories as well as offering a range of clothing, the workshop will service your on and off road motorcycles, pushbikes and scooters.

“A customer could be happy with the service in the shop but not happy with the workshop, so it’s a team effort,” says Michael.

“It’s the personal touch, we always make a point of following up with the customer.”

The dealership recently added another member to the crew in Shawn Gale.

“There aren’t many businesses in Tasmania with four mechanics in the workshop but the work is there,” says Michael.

“We are very fortunate. A lot have done it tough in business or had to close doors recently but we’ve always had support from our customers.”

The award was presented at the Honda Motorcycles annual awards last month, attended by Michael and oldest son Jamisen, 13.
