Home game heartache

NWBU. Both the Tall Timbers Smithton Saints men and women suffered losses to the Burnie Tigers in the North West Basketball Union’s second round on Friday night.

The Saints’ first home game of the season had a less than desirable result with the women falling 59-78 followed by the men 51-91.

The Smithton men lacked concentration and execution throughout the game resulting in easy points for Burnie.

Coach Steve Poulter congratulated Under 16 player Jett Grey on his first NWBU senior roster three-pointer and praised the support of Dominic Early and Bradlee Hardy.

The Smithton Saints will travel to Devonport tomorrow night (Friday February 24) to meet the Devonport Warriors from 7pm.
