CNW. The Circular Head Colts remain atop the Cricket North West ladder despite suffering a defeat against Ulverstone Black Caps on Sunday.
Winning the toss, Circular Head batted the first innings of the round seven clash led by Logan Smith with a classy half century.
Partnering with Sam Muller (7) and Jake Russell (22), Smith was caught out with 56 runs before the following four batsmen were knocked out for four runs between them.
Judd Stewart (11) interrupted the low scoring with a double digit attempt late in the order however the side was caught all out for 136 runs in 34.3 overs.
The Colts toppled the first two wickets for less than 10 runs before Black Caps batsmen Julius Kerwin (32), Bryce DeVries (56 not out) and Dylan Smith (15 not out) edged their way towards the target for the home side to win by seven wickets.
The Circular Head Colts Under 17 side will play round eight this Sunday (February 11) in Smithton against the Latrobe Demons while the Under 13 side travels to meet with Ulverstone Red in round 12.
