Beef. Greenham Tasmania meat is now available at Woolworths stores across the state, in four vacuum-sealed varieties.

Greenham management had been in negotiations with Woolworths for six months, following the completion of the Global Animal Partnership program, which provides standards for a labelling system showing the company’s commitment to animal welfare.

Now, Pure Black Natural Angus Beef – the ‘little brother of Cape Grim Beef’ – is available for Tasmanian customers in a range of ready-to-eat steaks, premium minces and roasts.

Greenham Tasmania managing director Peter Greenham said the new packaging line offered locals the opportunity to enjoy “100 per cent local grass-fed Angus beef products”.

“It’s great now that consumers in Tasmania can purchase their meat from a statewide retailer,” Mr Greenham said.

Pure Black Natural Angus Beef is produced using the Meat Standards Australia grading system, is hormone and antibiotic free and backed by a third party audited animal welfare program.

The meat is available in four lines – eye fillet steak, rump steak, porterhouse roast and premium mince – and the packaging offers an extended shelf life, allowing maximum turnover time for supermarkets.

The rollout started three weeks ago, and the range is now available at 30 Woolworths stores across the state.
