Bins. Ratepayers may have the choice of using green waste bins in the future, depending on what comes out of a tender process taken up by the Cradle Coast Waste Management Group (CCWMG).
Circular Head and Waratah‐Wynyard councils have not taken part in the tender process.
Daniel Summers, infrastructure and development services director, said both councils had not formally made a decision to introduce a green waste service collection or not, and each council would be able to do so once the results of the tender are known.
“It is highly likely the provision of this service would come at additional cost to councils and therefore ratepayers, so while not committing to the tender process, both councils will determine their position when it is complete,” Mr Summers said.
“Council would also undertake community consultation if a decision was made to provide such a service considering the likely additional costs involved.”
Both councils provide tip tickets to residents for the disposal of green waste.
