Grants open

Apply. The importance of educating the next generation of agricultural leaders has been underscored with up to $300,000 worth of agriculture scholarships on offer at the University of Tasmania.

This includes eight scholarships, worth up to $10,000 each per year, for first year students commencing studies next year.

Agriculture student outreach coordinator Joanna Jones said there are more scholarships available to students studying agriculture related degrees than in any other study area at the university.

“The large number of agricultural scholarships available is a reflection of the high and growing demand for well qualified agriculture graduates,” Dr Jones said.

“The University of Tasmania is ranked 44th in the world for agriculture, and the range of careers available for our graduates is immense, with graduates working in diverse areas such as agronomy, agribusiness, food safety and horticulture.”
