Golf for a good cause

Event. Spend this Saturday on the green in support of Legacy.

Smithton Country Club will this weekend host a fundraising event for the not-for-profit organisation.

Legacy provides support to close to 70,000 families of veterans and service members of the Australian Defence Force.

“Legacy’s assistance is aimed at helping families of deceased veterans to live rich and meaningful lives,” says Dean Tuson, men’s golf committee captain.

“The money raised from the charity golf day [will stay] within Legacy Tasmania and directly benefits families within Circular Head if assistance is sought.”

Both experienced and novice golfers are encouraged to take part in the golfing event on Saturday.

Participants can register in a team or individually.

“This event is ideal for work groups, sports teams or friends who might want to get a group of four together and have fun playing golf raising money for a great cause,” Tuson says.

“[The] event is open to anyone that wants to have a hit of golf but also to help raise money for this great cause. There is a long list of prizes on offer as well with local businesses generously donating to the event.”

As part of the entry fee, a spit roast will be provided at the end of the day.

For more information or to register contact Dean Tuson on 0408 575 175 or sign up at Smithton Country Club.
