NWFL. The Greenham Tasmania Circular Head Giants are back on the winners’ list this week with an important 25 point win over Latrobe at home for round 11 of the North West Football League.
The Giants got out to an early lead kicking four goals to the Demons’ one and taking a 23 point lead into the first change. The Demons fought back in the second to close the gap and trail by eleven at half time.
It was all the Giants in the third quarter as Smithton piled on six goals to Latrobe’s three points. Scott Bryan was best on ground and leading goal kicker for the Giants with four majors while Damien Medwin also chipped in with three.
Scott Jackson and Chase Armstrong were also amongst the best players.
Results were not so favourable for the Reserves who fell to the Demons by 34 points. In a low scoring game Jaxon Poke kicked two of the Giants’ five goals and was amongst the best players along with Nic Bellinger and Cameron Lockett.
The Under 18 game was also low scoring with the Giants not scoring at all in the first quarter and eventually going down to Latrobe by 23 points.
The Circular Head Giants will travel to Wynyard for round 12 this Saturday (July 1).
