NWFL. The Greenham Tasmania Circular Head Giants were vanquished by the Ulverstone Robins during round seven of the North West Football League on Saturday.
The Robins, currently second place on the ladder, controlled the game from the outset to gain a powerful lead at half time, 10.6.66 to 2.7.19.
The Giants marched into the third quarter with a new mindset to notch three goals however a fourth quarter fiasco allowed the Robins to claimed five majors and a 10 goal victory, 16.11.107 to 6.13.49.
In the Reserves, Ulverstone secured a tremendous 125 point victory in which Taygen Dennison, Michael Ollington and Bon Radford booted the Giants’ goals, 22.14.146 to 3.3.21.
The Under 18 and Women’s sides also suffered losses as Sam Muller, Brody Brown and Austen Perry notched goals in the 16.10.106 to 3.5.23 clash while Shantelle Giani secured the lone visitors’ goal in the Women’s game, 6.9.45 to 1.1.7.
In the North West Junior Football League, the Circular Head Giants remained competitive throughout the home game affairs on Sunday.
Brandon Stokes led the Under 14 side with three majors assisted by Alywn Russell and Hunter Stokes in the 3.3.21 to 9.6.60 defeat.
Xavier Heald and William Young contributed to the scoring in the Under 12 game, defeated 2.1.13 to 6.8.44.
While Bridget Watling claimed a major in the final quarter of the Junior Girls before Ulverstone took the win, 1.2.8 to 11.11.77.
The Circular Head Giants will host a home game against the Wynyard Cats in round eight of the North West Football League this Saturday (May 26).
