Ambassador. Immersing herself in the atmosphere of the Smithton Football Club, Letitia House is proud to be representing a family orientated club.

The Circular Head Giants ambassador, and sister to senior player Kalon House, began her season with a surprise – winning a 2016 Ford Fiesta in the club’s mega raffle.

“It was certainly a good start to my season! I was extremely shocked and excited to win the car, I’m really grateful,” she says.

“The organisers did an amazing job. There were some really good prizes up for grabs and it was so good to see so many people show up on the day.”

Following in the footsteps of her predecessors, Lily Vardon (2016) and Tayla Woods (2015), House has plenty in the works this year and is currently preparing the final touches on this weekend’s annual ball.

“I had no idea how much goes on behind the scenes of any sporting club before now,” she says.

“But I’m really enjoying being involved.”

House is kept busy at Friday night counter meals and casserole nights following every home game, while preparing for an upcoming trivia night and auction. Thankfully, she says, she has been warmly embraced by the club, and it is that welcoming nature of the Giants that is an asset for Circular Head.

“Blayde and Brax (sons) love coming along to the footy and it’s a club I’m proud to have them growing up around.

“They’re a great bunch of people and a warm community club.”

She adds it is pleasing to see new faces at the club with the introduction of a women’s team in the inaugural Tasmania Women’s League North West competition.

“The women are doing a fantastic job, I just think they’re very brave.

“I’m really enjoying [the role] and look forward to the rest of the season.”

Smithton Football Club’s annual ball will be held this Saturday (May 27) at the Circular Head Community and Recreation Centre from 7.30pm. For more information or to book a ticket contact Letitia House on 0419 041 526.
