Footy for young ones

Auskick. Teaching youngsters the foundation of good sportsmanship and teamwork, the Auskick program is on in the region once again.

The junior development program will start tomorrow night (Friday March 10) from 3.45 to 5pm at the Smithton Recreation Ground followed by a sausage sizzle. The four month clinic will run until Friday June 30 with a short break for Good Friday (Friday April 14) and Agfest Long Weekend (Friday May 5).

Open to girls and boys aged between four to 12, the program teaches children the basics of football including ball handling and kicking, with the exception of tackling. Parents are also encouraged to take part in a volunteer capacity.
