Feast on this

The Wells Wragg Banquet team love a good laugh. Pictured enjoying a funny moment are Sharon Poke, Phil Gale and Michelle McLaren.

Friendship. The Wells Wragg Banquet team has supported Relay for Life in Circular Head since the first relay in 2008.

The team is a combination of staff at Wells Wragg Pharmacy and members of the Bawdy Banquet plus family members and friends.

Playing to the motto of ‘laughter is the best medicine’ is not a problem for this rowdy bunch as all are partial to a laugh!

One of the group’s most inspiring walking combinations is the father-daughter duo of Kevin Blake and Patricia ‘Chicky’ O’Halloran.

Throughout the years they have walked together in all sorts of weather and at all times of the day or night. What makes this combination extra special is the fact that Kevin is a cancer survivor. In fact, it is 50 years since his cancer diagnosis.

Kevin will celebrate his 85th birthday this year and is looking forward to participating in Relay for Life once again. Kevin is happy to do his bit and daughter Chicky is proud to walk laps with him.

The team does not actively fundraise, rather relies on donations from team members. They thank Phil Gale and Gerald Kay for their ongoing sponsorship of the event.

The 2018 Relay for Life is to be held at the Smithton Recreation Ground on the weekend of March 17 and 18.
