Works. Construction to replace the current bridge at Dip Falls is set to start on Monday next week (March 31), with the Circular Head Council advising the bridge will be reopened on Friday April 11.
Mayor Daryl Quilliam said the car park area, barbecue, toilets and northern steps will remain accessible to visitors during this time, however there would be no access over the river to the viewing platform and the Big Tree during the closure.
“This area is a very important part of our municipal area, particularly as a tourist attraction, and these works will help to ensure access to Dip Falls continues well into the future,” Mayor Quilliam said.
The council allocated $420,000 to replace the bridge in the 2013-2014 Annual Plan and Budget Estimates.
