CHFA. Forest-Stanley bounced back from last round’s heavy loss to record a 156-point win over Trowutta-City, while Irishtown downed Redpa by 23 points away from home.
Last season’s grand final rematch was a hard-fought encounter with Redpa grabbing the early advantage, only for Irishtown to step up their intensity in the second quarter and maintain a game-winning margin.
A four-goal haul from in-form forward Koel Nicholls wasn’t quite enough for the Redlegs, while Shannon Walsh and Jarrod Booth both kicked three goals for the Canaries, leading their side to an important win.
At Stanley, the Demons’ defence managed to keep TC to just four goals for the match, scoring 28 goals of their own to cruise to a comfortable victory.
Brandon Tonks was the standout, running off half-back to boot seven goals alongside five-goal contributions from Lincoln Jackson and Marty Hardy.
With lightening premiership results taken into account, Redpa remain in top spot on the ladder with 12 points, followed by FS (10), Irishtown (8), Scotchtown (2) and TC (0).
