CHCA. In round four of the Circular Head Cricket Association Marrawah and Forest Stanley met for a close encounter.

Playing in Stanley, the visitors batted the first innings to find a total of 123 runs from 39.5 overs.

Marrawah batsmen Matthew Saward (37), Andrew Popowski (25) and Rocky Poke (10) provided stock while Forest Stanley bowlers Zachary Barber (4/33) and Iain Bruce (3/13) restricted the remaining batsmen from reaching double digits. Meanwhile David Buchanan positioned himself well to steal three catches for Forest Stanley.

In the second innings, a strong opening partnership between Shane Dennison (35) and Neville Bellinger (32) set the pace for the rest of the game before Barber (21) and Bruce (11 not out) rounded out the innings to reach their target and cinch the game with 4/125 from 24.3 overs.

Marrawah bowlers Jay Saward, Jaiden Popowski, Jotham Saward and Poke sent the right balls down the pitch for Jaiden and Andrew to claim the catches with one each.

In the second game, Trowutta Combine and Irishtown met in Smithton however games results were not made available.

Round five of Circular Head Cricket Association will be played this Saturday (December 2) when Irishtown hosts Forest Stanley and Trowutta Combine and Marrawah meet in Smithton.
