CHFA. Circular Head Football Association observed tremendous victories at the weekend as Forest Stanley and Irishtown topped the Seniors and Reserves games.
Forest Stanley struck Redpa in the first term forcing the home side deep into defence as the Demons, led by Lincoln Jackson with six majors, moved into offence.
Scoring stalled in the second quarter as the Redlegs matched the Demons’ two goals before the visitors introduced a fierce intensity in the third term.
Redpa applied defensive pressure to the Forest Stanley offence, forcing the side to falter in front of goals. The home side attempted to break through the opposition’s defence.
Despite the Redlegs’ best efforts the Demons claimed a thunderous victory, 18.20.128 to 2.10.22.
Scotchtown were left behind from the first bounce as Irishtown pounced with ferocity in the second match.
As the dominating forward figure for the Canaries, Kurt Everett excelled throughout, claiming seven majors in the contest alongside three from Ben Dawson.
Tigers midfielders Kieren Baldock, Jordan Williams and Alexander Walters hassled the Canaries offence however were no match for the home side as Irishtown limited Scotchtown to three behinds, ultimately winning with a final score of 15.11.101.
In the Reserves, Sean Ryan notched 250 club games for Irishtown as the side collected a victory.
Clinton McLaren and Daniel Littlejohn contributed three goals for Irishtown and Scotchtown respectively as the Canaries claimed the game, 9.4.58 to 4.3.7.
Forest Stanley prevented Redpa from converting any majors as Zeik Dennison notched three for the side to seal a win, 11.9.75 to 0.9.9.
Redpa earned an impressive victory against Forest Stanley, 8.22.70 to 4.2.26, in the Under 17 games while Irishtown scored a win against Scotchtown, 7.10.52 to 2.10.22.
In the Under 14 action, both Redpa and Scotchtown fought back from behind in the first quarter to claim victory with Redpa defeating Forest Stanley 4.8.32 to 1.1.7 and Scotchtown topping Irishtown 7.5.47 to 4.1.25.
In the next round of the Circular Head Football Association, Forest Stanley will travel to take on Irishtown and Scotchtown will meet with Redpa in Smithton this Saturday (June 30).
