Event. Circular Head Aboriginal Corporation will host a fundraising event tomorrow night in support of local Rhys Marshall.
Diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in December, the 24-year-old is currently undergoing chemotherapy at Launceston General Hospital.
His mother Cheryl Marshall says Rhys is in his usual high spirits.
“I think it’s important to understand that as far as cancer goes, there is no age barrier, it can happen to anyone,” she says.
The fundraiser will be held at Trawmanna, Mella Road tomorrow night (Friday February 9) from 6.30pm. Cost is $10 per person where community members can lounge on the lawn with a picnic rug and enjoy an evening of open mic entertainment. A barbecue will be available and patrons can BYO drinks.
