CNW. The Circular Head Colts Under 13 side registered a win at Haywoods Reserve on Sunday while their Under 17 counterparts finished with a loss.
Bowling first, the Under 13 team met with Ulverstone Red in a fierce match.
Kade Hardy (2/4) led the unit followed by Rylee Popowski (1/9), Eli Arnold (1/11), Jonah Evans (1/12), Zac Spinks (1/12) and Cooper Mallinson (1/13), to fall the opposing wickets within 25 overs for a total of 114 runs.
As Circular Head stepped up to the crease, Eli Bellinger (44 not out) gave the visitors the momentum needed to steal a win as Jotham Saward (25 retired), Hardy (11 retired), Arnold (11 retired) and Popowski (10) helped the side to a winning score of 7/162 from 29 overs.
In the other match, the Under 17 side played in Smithton against the Latrobe Demons.
Jake Grey (3/29) stood out amongst the bowlers in the first innings as did Caleb Cole and Kaleb O’Halloran each with two catches to see the opposing side reach 8/191 in 40 overs.
Logan Smith (52), Sam Muller (20) and Jake Russell (28) helped the side to a positive start however could not cross the line with a final score of 8/173 at the end of the second innings.
The Circular Head Colts Under 17 side will travel to Devonport to meet with the Orions this Sunday (February 18) while the Under 13 side hosts the Sheffield Mountaineers from 10am.
